VITORIA-GASTEIZ – Real Madrid‘s Sergio Llull couldn’t help his squad in the EuroLeague quarterfinals against Panathinaikos due to a left leg muscle injury but he is now ready to do whatever it takes.
As he confirmed one day before the semifinal game against CSKA Moscow: “Well, I am physically well. 100%, what is important, and prepared to help the team in whatever it takes.”
After all, Real Madrid is trying to repeat without having Luka Doncic on their roster. Llull is very well aware of how hard it is to win the title twice in a row and how amazing it would feel: “It would be incredible. Winning one is difficult, getting to the Final Four again is complicated. The road is very long, very hard and now we have another opportunity before us. We are going to try to take advantage of it.”
Llull wants the trophy and he doesn’t care about his personal performance. After all, the important thing is to win and Llull knows that Real Madrid has many players who can make things happen: “I want to win the trophy on Sunday, I do not care who the protagonist is. This is a team game and we all have to try to add positive things, do our job, be clear about our role and all add up to achieve collective victories, which is what it is about.”
