VITORIA-GASTEIZ– At 25 years of age last summer, Klemen Prepelic made the jump to a EuroLeague powerhouse for the first time of his career by signing with Real Madrid.
Prepelic had previously been a protagonist in French Pro A club Levallois Metropolitans. This season though, the Slovenian guard had to undertake a new role as a player coming off the bench of the defending EuroLeague champion.
“It’s [The Final Four] a big moment. I didn’t have much opportunity. But just being part of this system and to be part of this “train” that had been successful this last couple of years… I’m very happy for that.”
Prepelic had also been further learning how to adjust his game to the needs of a whole of a powerhouse.
“Real Madrid is a team where you have to put your individual thoughts into the team,” Prepelic said. “The team is first. I learned that since the EuroBasket.”
“I’m happy to be here. I’m happy for every opportunity the coach gives me. If I can help the team, it’s much better,” Prepelic added.
Prepelic’s help may be needed in the upcoming EuroLeague semifinal vs. CSKA Moscow.
