Vasilije Micic has been on to a crazy season thus far and paced Anadolu Efes Istanbul to the EuroLeague championship game against rivals Fenerbahce on Friday along with Shane Larkin.
The 25-year-old Serbian guard’s season hasn’t gone without notice from the other side of the Atlantic as expected. Vladimir Stankovic of maxbetsport.rs caught up with Ettore Messina, who opened up about how he and Gregg Popovich have had discussions about Micic.
“Great game, great season. [He is an] NBA player. If it were for me, I’d love to see him in San Antonio!”, the Spurs assistant coach commented.
“We talked a lot about Micic with Gregg Popovich, several times. He’d greatly fit into our team. How he played with Larkin should be shown at the coaching clinics. Though it’s just what we would like, does not mean that he will come. I do not know who has his NBA rights, we haven’t contacted his agent, I do not know his status, we have not done anything yet, what I’m telling you is my personal point of view”.
