VITORIA-GASTEIZ — Pablo Laso and Real Madrid won the third-place game in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four and at least they finished their EuroLeague season on a high note.
As Laso said: “We were ready for this event, we are proud for our season. I am really proud of my players, as I know that this is one of the most difficult games to play for obvious reasons. I am very proud of the way we have responded. We are leaving with a strange taste in our mouth, but it’s always better to finish the season by winning, even if it’s not in the game that we would have liked to play”.
Laso was asked about Facundo Campazzo’s record-breaking 15 assists. “Facu has had a magnificent game but it’s not only the 15 assists but his amazing defense. I am proud about his performance, but it’s not only about the stats. Still, it’s good that he had such a game”, said Laso who expects his team to finish strong the regular season in the Spanish Liga Endesa: “We have to focus on finishing on top of the Liga Endesa standings and now we have to concentrate on that”.
