Dimitris Itoudis won his second EuroLeague title as head coach a week ago (19/5) with CSKA Moscow. The Greek coach becomes a free agent this summer and, according to CSKA president Andrey Vatutin, his case has attracted attention from the NBA.
“Itoudis confirmed his class by winning the EuroLeague. It’s clear that he has interest from Europe and, as far as I heard, from the NBA,” Vatutin said, per Russian news agency TASS.
Vatutin also mentioned that there will soon be a meeting with Itoudis. “So far, there hasn’t even been time,” the Russian executive said.
CSKA Moscow claimed its eighth EuroLeague title in the Final Four held 17-19 of May in Vitoria-Gasteiz Spain. It was the second continental title for the “Army Men” in four years since the club also won it in 2016, with Itoudis at the helm.
