Shortly after helping Khimki Moscow advance to the VTB League Finals, Janis Timma didn’t want to give any definite answer when he was asked if he will stay with the Russian club or if he will return to Olympiacos.
“The loan period is ending soon. But I don’t think about it now. It was important for me to win the series against Unics and fulfill the task of making the EuroLeague. Let’s see what happens next. I won’t give any hints about my future now. I don’t want to talk about this,” Timma said to Match. The Latvian forward is under contract with Olympiacos for 2019-2020.
Timma was loaned to Khimki by Olympiacos in March. After a poor output (3.4 points, 0.9 rebounds in 11:31 minutes over 23 EuroLeague games) in his 2018-2019 stint with the Reds, Timma catapulted his numbers with Khimki. He has so far averaged 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 25:17 over 13 games in VTB.
Considering Timma’s games with Khimki and the fact that he underperformed with Olympiacos, the possibility of him staying in Moscow the next season is more than high.
