Partizan Belgrade president Ostoja Mijailovic confirmed that the Serbian club has applied for a wildcard to participate in the 2019-2020 EuroLeague.
“It’s well known that Partizan applied for an invitation to EuroLeague,” Mihailovic said to Blic. “We have made all the necessary activities for it, inside the club and outside of it.”
Partizan last played in EuroLeague in 2013-2014. The team then featured current Sacramento Kings guard Bogdan Bogdanovic and San Antonio Spurs forward Davis Bertans.
Ostoja also said that FIBA invited Partizan to play in the Basketball Champions League. “Like last year, there was a call to play in the FIBA’s Basketball Champions League. They want us in this competition. I always talk to everyone to make the best decision.”
Partizan participated in the inaugural campaign of the Basketball Champions League in 2016-2017. These last two seasons, the club played in EuroCup.
