Upon agreeing with CSKA Moscow, Will Clyburn will very soon sign a two-year contract, according to Eurohoops sources. His contract extension doesn’t include an NBA-out for this summer.
The 29-year-old American forward is with the Russian side since 2017 and will remain part of the club following his best professional campaign. He capped off his 2018-19 season winning the EuroLeague Championship and landing the Final Four MVP award with 13.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest to display.
Clyburn began his European career in 2013 with ratiopharm Ulm. He later joined Hapoel Holon and Darussafaka gathering impressive accolades on his way, but all fail to compare to his 2018-19 achievements.
His CSKA’s season is still ongoing through the VTB United League Finals. Dimitris Itoudis’ club is up 1-0 in the best-of-five series versus Khimki Moscow Region.
Just after the end of the EuroLeague final, it was mentioned for the first time the Clyburn will remain in CSKA by Bebasket’s Gabriel Pantel-Jouve and today “Izvestia” reported first that a deal between the player and CSKA Moscow is almost completed.
