As Eurohoops reported, Olympiacos wanted to strengthen its frontcourt with Jeremy Evans and Othello Hunter. The contact has been initiated with both players but a deal hasn’t been reached with either one yet.
The gap between Hunter and Olympiacos regarding his salary has been too big. The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion with CSKA Moscow is asking for more than one million dollars per year. The club isn’t willing to pay that amount and unless something drastically changes, the negotiations will not continue.
On the other hand, Evans’ side wasn’t satisfied with the initial offer and is asking for a total of more than one million dollars for two seasons. Olympiacos doesn’t wish to unnecessarily prolong the negotiations and the club is expected to return with a better offer.
However, the player also wants to wait a bit longer in case an NBA offer comes along which is his primary goal. Evans played with the Utah Jazz, the Dallas Mavericks and the Atlanta Hawks during his career.
