CSKA Moscow guard and free-agent-to-be Cory Higgins is about to sign a three-year, $10.5 million (gross) deal with Barcelona according to Eurohoops sources.
Higgins will inform CSKA and Barcelona about his decision Tuesday (11/6). CSKA made a late push in order to keep the 29-year-old American player in its ranks but Higgins had decided to join Barcelona and didn’t change his mind about it.
By signing the 10.5 million deal (close to 6 million net) with Barcelona, Higgins will become the second-highest paid player in Spain after Real Madrid star Sergio Llull.
Higgins, a two-time (2016, 2019) EuroLeague champion with CSKA, averaged 14.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 25:25 minutes over 32 games this season in the top-tier continental competition.
