After weeks of speculations and negotiations, Kostas Sloukas decided to accept the contract offer made by Fenerbahce BEKO. The Greek guard will continue to play for the Turkish club for the next two years with an option for a third.
Sloukas will be paid six million euros net in total, an offer which is pretty much equal to the one made by FC Barcelona.
There were many other suitors for the All-Euroleague guard, notably among them his former team Olympiacos which finally offered his 5,4 million, also for a three-year deal.
Sloukas asked from the Reds to provide him with financial guarantees about his payments since there have been notable delays during the last two seasons from Olympiacos. Those guarantees were not provided.
The 29 years old player is expected to sign his contract in the next few days and the agreement will be officially announced soon after.
UPDATE: According to the agent of the player, Panos Kapazoglou, the decision of Sloukas is not taken yet. However, Eurohoops sources suggest otherwise.
Kostas Sloukas hasn’t signed any new contract or any contract extension . He is only focused on winning Game 7 of Turkish league and one more title with Fener. He will take his decisions after the end of the season
