EuroLeague’s Stats Attack takes a closer look at every assist of the 2019 Final Four pointing out details on CSKA Moscow’s, Anadolu Efes’, Fenerbahce Beko’s and Real Madrid’s approach. Which sides and which players dished the most helpers at Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, which players scored more from assists and which ones counted on themselves.
There was no match for CSKA’s 186 points in its pair of Final Four affairs, but the Russian club’s 29 dimes were only good enough for third place. Daniel Hackett sent seven assists to six teammates, Nando De Colo dished six to five and received helpers from five different players as well. Nine players scored off assists, but none were helped more than two times from a single teammate.
CSKA made 57.5% of its three-point attempts with 23/40, but 12 of them were unassisted. Will Clyburn didn’t need any help beyond the arc four times, Sergio Rodriguez three and De Colo two. Also, Othello Hunted poured the second-most points, 15, without dishing an assist.
Shane Larkin and Vasilije Micic combined for 60% of Anadolu Efes’ 25 assists in the Final Four. However, they both received only one dime from every other player of the Turkish team, but Ergin Ataman’s stars did assist each other twice at Spain.
Larkin’s 59 points were enough for first place in the Final Four scoring list, but he also sent nine helpers to five different players. Bryant Dunston took on six dimes from four teammates, while James Anderson notched 17 points without providing a helper.
