Maccabi Tel Aviv intends to offer Israeli swingman Yovel Zoosman a four-year, one-million contract until 2023, according to Israeli Sport 5.
The plan of Maccabi is to convince Zoosman to stay on the team long-term and not pursue any NBA opportunities since the club considers him a “player of the future”. Zoosman, 21, wasn’t picked by any team in the 2019 NBA Draft.
Zoosman is currently earning $35,000 per season according to his current contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv that expires in 2021. As Sport 5 reports, this is one of the lowest contracts in the Israeli Winner League.
In the 2018-2019 EuroLeague, Zoosman gradually finding himself getting more and more playing time with Maccabi as the season progressed. He finished averaging 14:46 minutes during which he notched 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
