Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv reached terms with Zalgiris Kaunas and sealed the deal with Nate Wolters via press release on Sunday. The 28-year-old American point guard signed a two-year contract, per the Israeli club’s announcement.
“I can not wait for the moment when I play in Maccabi Tel Aviv” Wolters said after completing his transfer and added: “I have only heard great things about the organization and about the fact that there are some of the best fans in the world. I know we will have a great season and excited to get the season started!”
Head coach Ioannis Sfairopoulos noted: “After the end of the season, I spoke with the management and the team and decided to cooperate with Nate Wolters, who is able to bring us more strength and help us more in defense and in scoring. Despite the fact that many teams wanted him, Maccabi managed to sign a good player in order to add him to our wonderful team of players and give us extra strength.”
The South Dakota State alumni is coming off 28 EuroLeague appearances with Zalgiris during the 2018-19 campaign. He averaged 11.2 points, 3.8 assists and 2.8 rebounds. He also had 8.3 points per LKL Regular Season match and went on with 7.7 per contest in the Playoffs.
