Barcelona announced that the club has extended the contract of head coach Svetislav Pesic through 2021.
Pesic had hinted on remaining with Barcelona after the end of Game 4 of the Spanish ACB League Finals. Following his team’s defeat to Real Madrid, the veteran Serbian coach said that losing the title made him look forward to the next season with the Blaugrana. Otherwise, he would “think” about the two-year offer he had on his hands by the club.
Barcelona brought Pesic back on the team in February 2018. During his second stint with the Catalan side, Pesic won back-to-back Copa Del Rey titles.
Pesic had led Barcelona to the first EuroLeague title in the history of the club in 2003.
