Khimki Moscow General Manager Pavel Astakhov said that the club is negotiating with former All-EuroLeague guard Malcolm Delaney.
“We are interested in all the strong players currently available on the market. Malcolm is definitely one of them. We are interested in signing him, we are in talks. But it’s difficult to negotiate.” Astakhov answered when asked if Khimki has a possible interest to Malcolm Delaney, in an interview with Russian outlet Izvestia.
“Malcolm’s priority is to return to the NBA. In such cases, negotiations are always delayed,” Astakhov added.
Delaney has an offer for a two-year contract by reigning EuroLeague champion CSKA Moscow. The 30-year-old combo guard spent 2015-2016, the last season of his career in Europe, in Russia with Lokomotiv Kuban before heading to the Atlanta Hawks to make his NBA debut.
In 2016, Delaney led Lokomotiv to the EuroLeague Final Four for the first time in the history of the club. He was named in the All-EuroLeague First Team.
