Khimki Moscow forward Janis Timma talked about the reasons he decided to not stay with Olympiacos for 2019-2020, despite the contract he had with the club.
“I started the season in Greece and I think the start was pretty good. It was a new team, a new league, a new environment, a new coach. Taking all this into consideration, I started well, but because of some coincidence of circumstances, the season did not continue in that spirit. At the end I decided that I didn’t want to sit on bench as a reserve, but I wanted to play,” Timma said in an interview with Sportacentrs.
Timma was first loaned to Khimki by Olympiacos in March. The player went on to average 16.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 25:17 minutes in VTB League. He had played 11.31 minutes with Olympiacos in EuroLeague plus 15.2 minutes in the Greek League.
Khimki signed Timma to a two-year deal after the player and Olympiacos mutually agreed to part ways.
“Then also the factor of “Khimki” club, which was ready to sign a contract with me in ten minutes. I very much appreciate it – their trust in me and the fact that they were confident that I will help them. Overall, the season was different than before, but each new experience is good and the best one to take.”
