Nikola Mirotic decided to leave the NBA and move back to Europe signing with Barcelona Lassa. He landed in the city today (7/7) and also had a chance to speak to the media for the first time after the decision noting he is excited: “I feel happy and very excited, just like my family, and eager to meet people in the Club and also the city”, he said, per ACB.com.
The 28-year-old forward also shared that he has grown a lot in the US and was on good squads but missed the European competitions and was looking for his family’s stability:
“There have been good years of growth in the United States, the last two – my best two. I played on good teams, but I missed the competition in Europe. The Endesa League, the Euroleague, the Copa del Rey… I was looking for stability for my family. I have been given a very good project and a very good opportunity to come here. “
He admitted it was a surprise for many but received a lot of support from the people closest to him: “I have received many calls and messages from my friends and family, it has been a surprise for many but above all, I have received a lot of support from the people who love me. When I am happy, my family is happy, and we are looking forward to doing well”, Mirotic said.
