Real Madrid made a deal with Iberostar Tenerife to allow Santiago Yusta recently sign his two-year contract with his new team and be able to match any offer he receives from an ACB side after he current deal ends to reclaim him, per AS.
ACB announced that the Whites renounced the right for “tanteo”, the Spanish version of NBA’s restricted free agency. Real did not match the deal, but agreed with Tenerife to essentially extend the 22-year-old’s “tanteo” rights to the summer of 2021.
The agreement allows Yusta to indeed move to his new team taking part in the Spanish League and the Basketball Champions League. However, after a couple of seasons, his previous team will be able to recover him matching any offer he receives.
