A new face was added today at Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv’s roster.
As the club announced: Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv signed Elijah Bryant (24, 1.96 m) for two years. He is a swingman (2-3 positions) with great potential in building moves, a good rebounder for his position, a precise player and familiar with life in Israel and Israeli basketball. Last season he played for Hapoel Eilat, which gave in to Maccabi in the Final Four semi-final.
“Another talented player has joined us to help the team reach its goals”, said coach Giannis Sfairopoulos to maccabi.co.il. “He is a great scorer with a great personality, he fits directly in Maccabi’s mentality. Welcome to Maccabi family Elijah Bryant!”.
Elijah Bryant told the official website: “I’m very excited and very grateful to play in such a historic franchise, fans, it’s time to get excited – let’s do something special”.
The addition of Bryant adds a fairly large guard to the back line when it comes to a player who has all the tools to fit into a large system fairly quickly because of the ability to perform actions in the game flow that do not depend on how long he’s with the ball. Even when he does not produce something himself, the young American has an excellent timing and finds the way to be at the right time and place. Thus he becomes a player who can score, but without forcing situations.
Recently in the summer league, where he played four games for the Milwaukee Bucks, Elijah Bryant presented his ability to make high quality decisions and select shots at a high level. In one of the games he played as a point guardand and finished with 8 assists, in another game he showed his ability as a scorer with 31 point in 25 minutes vs Minnesota.
