Olympiacos announced that Will Cherry will stay with the team for next season. Initially added after the end of last EuroLeague’s campaign for the Reds only for the Greek League, Cherry will remain part of the roster.
Earlier in the summer, it was reported that Cherry was close to a deal with Buducnost, but coach David Blatt decided that he is the right player for his next season’s project.
The initial deal between the two sides expired at the end of the season. The new deal is a one-year contract between the club and the player.
Olympiacos was also in contact with other players, however, after this decision Wade Baldwin is expected to be a starter. After this deal, Olympiacos’ roster includes nine non-Greek players, since the team will not play in the Greek League and there’s no limit for non-local contracts in the EuroLeague.
