Earlier in the summer, Jock Landale was stuck between Partizan NIS and Zalgiris Kaunas. That part of his future was resolved, but the 23-year-old Australian center is now in between of Europe and the NBA. “There is a pretty good chance you could see me in an NBA team this year” he said to RSN 927’s the Breakfast Club.
In the 2019 Las Vegas Summer League, Landale averaged 18.3 points, 7 rebounds and 1.3 assists and hopes his showing is enough for a spot in the NBA. “There have been discussions with a number of teams. Unfortunately, I can not say any more about it at this stage.”
On the one-year contract he has signed with Zalgiris, he pointed out: “There are a few issues to sort out” and added: “We have a lot of trouble dealing with contract issues in Lithuania.”
“Hopefully it can be sorted out. A lot of people are working on it” Landale said on his NBA chances and explained: “Otherwise I will just play another year in Europe.”
The Saint Mary’s alumni is coming off his first professional season with Partizan. He averaged 11.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per 7DAYS EuroCup contest, also notched 12 points and 5.6 rebounds per match in the ABA League.
