Mike James had multiple Twitter reactions to Olimpia Milano head coach Ettore Messina’s statement about the team not considering him for the 2019-2020 season.
“Real ones know what it is. But I’ll be an amazing cheerleader for now,” was James’ first tweet after the publication of Messina’s statement.

When former All-EuroLeague forward Quincy Miller retweeted the news commenting “I hope this is a joke,” James replied, “Naw, euroleague having reality TV and I’m the star for this episode.”

When asked if he plans to stay in Europe, James answered,” I plan to stay in Milan and I guess not play. That’s what it sounds like I’m going to do.”

A fan told James to phone Olympiacos head coach David Blatt to go to the team. “I like Blatt but I think that would be a bad fit. History type stuff,” James replied, making a reference to his two-year stint with Panathinaikos, Olympiacos‘ archrival club.

James also mentioned how he expects to be paid according to the deal he has with Milano. James’ 2+1 contract with the Italian side earns him 1.9 million per year.
