After five seasons with ALBA Berlin, Niels Giffey penned a two-year contract extension, the German side announced on Monday. The Connecticut alumni is now set for his sixth and seventh campaign with the lone club of his professional career.
“Going into the next season with most of my teammates from last year means a lot to me” the 28-year-old German swingman noted upon signing and added: “It is great to keep playing for ALBA and my hometown Berlin. I am looking forward to the new challenges in the EuroLeague.”
Giffey is with ALBA since the 2014-15 season and his team’s last EuroLeague appearance. He since followed the German side in four 7DAYS EuroCup campaigns.
Last year, he averaged 10.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per EuroCup contest, also notched 9.6 points per match in easyCredit BBL action.
