Despite re-signing with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, Angelo Caloiaro is on his way to the exit, admitted Ioannis Sfairopoulos, Israeli outlet Sport5 relays. “We believe he will not get minutes and will release him if he receives a good offer” the 52-year-old Greek head coach noted.
“We love Angelo and wanted him, but his position is overloaded” added Sfairopoulos. “This is the roster I wanted. I wanted to bring in quality players.”
On his former team, Olympiacos, and the decision to compete in EuroLeague with a separate roster: “It is a very interesting situation. They can be fresher, but rusty as well.”
