Anadolu Efes prevailed over Khimki Moscow region with a 66-64 victory at the Zadar Tournament, a few weeks before the new EuroLeague season tips off.
Alec Peters led Ergin Ataman’s squad with 13 points and six rebounds, while Tibor Pleiss and Dogus Balbay added 11 and 10 points respectively.
Khimki had Dairis Bertans playing a key role in the game and scoring 24 points along with six rebounds.
Despite Bertans’ star-like performance, Efes got ahead by 66-62 with Rodrigue Beaubois (6 points) hitting the net from afar with 8 seconds remaining, right after Khimki trimmed the deficit to one point. Jonas Jerebko went in for a dunk with 4 seconds left to bring his team to a 2-point difference, though the game ended in Efes‘ favor.
