Olympiacos beat Unics Kazan 70 – 66 in the game that opened the annual “Gomelsky Cup” preseason tournament.
Giorgos Printezis posted 18 points and seven rebounds, Nikola Milutinov notched a double-double of 10 points (including a key bucket with 8 seconds remaining) and 13 boards while Kevin Punter scored 14 for the Reds that played excellent defense in the third period to get a decisive 56 – 48 lead.
For Unics, Jamar Smith dropped 17 points, Errick McCollum11 and Alex Tyus 10.
