The new EuroLeague season is upon us and the voice of the EuroLeague Players Association will be able to be heard weekly in the new ELPA Podcast, which will present its first episode on the 2nd of October and will feature ELPA President and Fenerbahce player Gigi Datome.

Meanwhile, managing director Bostjan Nachbar has met with all the players of the EuroLeague as the goal of a CBA is getting closer.

Per the press release: Five countries, ten teams visited in 13 days… After few days in Lyon and Malaga, visiting Euroleague newcomers LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, ALBA Berlin, and Zenit St. Petersburg, ELPA Management was back on the road for the second round of team meetings.

FC Barcelona, Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, AX Armani Exchange Milan, Olympiacos Piraeus, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, CSKA Moscow, Khimki Moscow Region, and Zalgiris Kaunas were teams visited during pre-season in Barcelona, Athens, Istanbul, Moscow and Kaunas.

“We are very satisfied with our visits during the last 3 weeks. All 13 teams we visited so far have big support for ELPA. Players have shown a lot of enthusiasm about what we want to achieve in the future. They appreciate the changes that were made during negotiations in the last 12 months, but everyone also realizes that we are just getting started and that there is still a lot of work to be done. I would also like to use this opportunity to wish all players a healthy and successful basketball season”, Managing Director Bostjan Nachbar said.

Players stepped up during the meetings, exchanged ideas, and learned more about the recent improvements. Important feedbacks were gathered throughout the weeks.

“I played in NBA 10 years and I’ve been a member of NBPA for 10 years. I think it’s a long time coming for the Euroleague to do the same thing with ELPA. I’m excited to join ELPA now. In a short amount of time, ELPA got a lot done. It’s only gonna bet better, obviously. The more players that sign up, the more players that join, our voice is gonna get heard. And it’s just gonna make a better league”, said Khimki Moscow player Jonas Jerebko.
