Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade announced that Zarko Cabarkapa is the club’s new sports director.
Cabarkapa played for Beopetrol and Buducnost early in his career before moving to the NBA where he played for the Phoenix Suns and the Golden State Warriors. However, he was prone to injuries and had to stop playing competitively at 26 years of age and eventually retired at 28.
He was also a part of the 2002 Yugoslavian national team which won the FIBA World Cup gold in Indianapolis. After his playing career, Cabarkapa served as the ABA League sports director for the past four years (2015-19).
