Valencia’s Mike Tobey will sit out Sunday’s ACB game versus Unicaja Malaga due to a right ankle sprain, the Spanish club announced on Saturday. The injury occurred in the second quarter of Friday’s EuroLeague Regular Season Round 3 match against Anadolu Efes.
Down 0-3 in EuroLeague after yesterday’s home loss, Jaume Ponsarnau’s side will attempt to improve to 3-2 in the ACB without Tobey. The American center went through medical tests this morning, but will be re-evaluated in the coming days to further determine the severity of his injury.
The Virginia alum only lasted 22 seconds on Friday. In his first couple of 2019-20 EuroLeague appearances averaged 10 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, also has 8.5 points and 4 rebounds per contest through four ACB games.
