Olympiacos added Willie Reed, the EuroLeague participant announced on Saturday morning. The 29-year-old American big was the primary target for the center position and had previously revealed his deal with the Greek club.
Following his NCAA tenure with Saint Louis, Reed went undrafted in 2011, still played in 152 NBA games between the Brooklyn Nets, the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Detroit Pistons. He spent the majority of his career in the G League posting 20.1 points and 11.2 rebounds for the Salt Lake City Stars per 2019-20 contest up to his season-ending shoulder injury in January.
As a part of the Reds, the Missouri native will get his first taste of European basketball as the back up for starting center Nikola Milutinov. He will not compete in the Greek domestic league as Olympiacos is currently in A2 its country’s second division reserving the first team solely for EuroLeague purposes.
