It’s been four years since Scottie Wilbekin introduced himself to European basketball. He since became a member of the Turkish national team and competed in 84 EuroLeague matches. With 11.9 points per appearance in Europe’s premier competition, the 26-year-old guard made it to exactly 1,000 EuroLeague points on Thursday.
Wilbekin scored his first 566 with Darussafaka in 51 matches of the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons. Following his 7DAYS EuroCup stint with the Turkish club in 2017-18, he moved to Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv to sink the other 434 points in 33 games.
His 1,00th point came with a bucket late into Maccabi’s home win against Valencia adding on his team-high 14 points outing. The two-pointer made the Florida alumni the 178th player to enter the 1,000 point club.
