Olympiacos dropped its home game versus Anadolu Efes on Thursday evening, but Georgios Printezis had a different reason of statistical flavor to enjoy the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 7 contest. His 14 points brought him in third place of modern EuroLeague’s all-time scoring list.
The 34-year-old Greek forward is going through his 17th campaign in Europe’s premier competition, 15th with the Reds. Rising his points tally to 2.998 tied him in third place with Real Madrid’s Felipe Reyes, also placed him a bucket away from the 3,000-point-club currently measured by two players, Juan Carlos Navarro and Olympiacos teammate Vassilis Spanoulis.
La Bomba concluded his storied EuroLeague career with 4,152 points, 12.18 per appearance. Only Spanoulis’ 4,054 points and counting present a threat to Navarro. Printezis will not be able to match the above legends, but will likely become the third player to score over 3,000 points.
