Fenerbahce Beko put an end to its losing streak against visiting FC Bayern Munich and with a 90-82 victory the Turkish side moves to a 2-5 record.
“We need to continue to work hard. We need to continue to understand the quality we have as a team and how important it is to keep concentration in every second of the practice, not only in the game”, commented Zeljko Obradovic after the game.
Derrick Williams was unstoppable against his former team (with which he spent the 2018-19 season) and finished the game with 19 points, three rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes.
It took an 18-6 run in the first five minutes of the fourth period for Fenerbahce to get back on track and establish its game after being trailed 62-61 at the end of the third. Kostas Sloukas (11 points) signaled Fenerbahce’s comeback with a three-pointer at the start of the final quarter and since then the hosts never looked back.
“Much, much better than previous games”
“We worked a lot to have a better offense, to have good spacing and move the ball in the right way. It was not like that all game long, but I believe it was much, much better than in previous games”, continued Obradovic who got some extra love from the crowd.

Bayern (now 3-4) held its ground for most of the game, though started giving out while faced with feisty Fenerbahce that was chasing its second win in the competition 7 rounds in. Still, Greg Monroe and Vladimir Lucic caused enough damage to the opposing defense, with 17 and 14 points each.
