Former Barcelona and Panathinaikos coach Xavi Pascual is currently in Athens, accompanied by his agent Zoran Savic.
Pascual’s visit is unrelated to the firing of Panathinaikos coach Argiris Pedoulakis following the team’s home loss to Alba Berlin Thursday (14/11). As of now, it’s highly unlikely that Pascual will return to the Greek powerhouse.
In the last couple of weeks, Pascual was linked with Valencia as a potential replacement of coach Jaume Ponsarnau.
Pascual coached Panathinaikos for two years, from October 2016 to December 2018. He won the 2017 and 2018 Greek League titles plus the 2017 Cup title with the “Greens.” He was previously the coach of Barcelona with which he won the EuroLeague title of 2010.
