James Gist’s future with Crvena Zvezda mts is up in the air, according to Mozzart Sport. The 33-year-old big did not make the trip to Germany ahead of Tuesday’s EuroLeague Regular Season Round 9 match versus ALBA Berlin, the report adds further complicating the situation.
Gist signed a two-year contract with the Serbian club last July, but has not met high expectations set by the EuroLeague team. In his first eight games in Europe’s premier competition, he averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists with his best outings coming in the first couple of rounds.
Stratos Perperoglou will also miss the Round 9 game. Derrick Brown who has not played since Round 3 and Nikola Jovanovic traveled to Germany’s capital covering for the absentees.
The team from Belgrade is 2-6 in EuroLeague, 4-3 in ABA League. Apart the veteran of 221 EuroLeague appearances, the Serbian side seems unhappy with Lorenzo Brown’s contribution so far as well.
