Real Madrid defeated visiting Khimki Moscow Region with a smashing 104-76 victory to keep up its winning streak in EuroLeague and move up to a 6-3 record in the standings.
The fate of the game was decided right from the first half, as the Spanish side led 65-42 at halftime and nothing changed in the second, with Khimki unable to react to their scoring crescendo.
The Russian side attempted to trim the deficit in the final period with a late 20-12 run as Real started slowing down, though nothing could change at that point.
Anthony Randolph was the leading scorer for the winners with 19 points, while Facu Campazzo and Walter Tavares finished with 15 points each with the Argentinian magician providing his usual share of highlights.
Things proved to be more than easy for the hosts which expected who are now tied with Khimki in the standings.
“Great victory, but we should think of the next game that is soon”
“[We were] very focused, we kept defending and finally we got almost 30, 40-point advantages that let us take the fourth quarter with calm. I’m happy for the victory. Khimki is a great team, with great scorers, great players all around, so great victory but now we are thinking about the next game, that is soon”, mentioned Pablo Laso after the game.
In the wake of Janis Timma’s absence, Chris Kramer paced Khimki with 14 points, while Alexey Shved and Anthony Gill posted 12 points apiece. The team now falls to a 6-3 record.
Real will look to keep up its winning pace against CSKA Moscow on Thursday, while Khimki faces Valencia.
