Zalgiris Kaunas is keeping guard Thomas Walkup with a contract extension through the 2020-21 season, as the club announced Wednesday.
26-year-old Walkup is in his second Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season with Zalgiris, averaging 8.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in 24 minutes per game. He came off the bench for the season’s first seven games and started in the last three.
“He’s one of those players who takes his craft very professionally and responsibly. Thomas Walkup gelled with the team immediately and is now one of the most important people off the court. On the court, he’s improving and has been growing together with the club”, commented Sarunas Jasikevicius on the extension.
