Joan Plaza is on his way out from Zenit Saint-Petersburg, RIA Novosti reports noting that Simone Pianigiani is included in the list of potential suitors for the head-coaching position.

With two wins in 11 games to show, the Russian club is at the bottom of EuroLeague’s standings. Zenit started the 2019-20 season only 4-5 in VTB United League under the guidance of the 55-year-old Spanish head coach.

Pianigiani, 50, is without a team since parting ways with AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan following the conclusion of the 2018-19 season. Has 180 EuroLeague games under his belt including a couple of Final Four runs with Siena.
