Anadolu Efes has been playing very likely the best basketball in Europe recently as they stand at the top of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings with a 10-2 record.
One of the main forces driving the squad forward has been Shane Larkin who followed his historic 49-point performance against Bayern Munich last week with a 24-point performance on one miss from the field in convincing road win vs. KIROLBET Baskonia tonight (6/12).
Efes coach Ergin Ataman has also been impressed by his player’s performance and in his opinion, Larkin is currently the best player in Europe: “I think that, of course, for me, he’s right now the best player in Europe. And he enjoys to play in our team with his friends, he likes the system of the team and I think that he feels comfortable with this kind of basketball.”
He noted that it’s not only his scoring but also that he gives all he’s got in al aspects of the game: “And he gave… not only points, OK, maybe he scored but you see on the court that he always gives his 100%, he gives hustle, rebounds, defense – not only points. I think that right now he’s the best player in Europe”, Ataman said.
