The Istanbul derby between Fenerbahce Beko and Anadolu Efes stands out among the games of Round 13 of the EuroLeague regular season. While Fenerbahce is coming into the match with more losses (7) than wins (5), Efes coach Ergin Ataman believes that this record doesn’t reflect the team’s true power.
“Fenerbahce Beko has the best coach and it is the team with the most capacity in the EuroLeague,” Ataman said. “The place where they are now in the standings does not show their real potential. A tough game is waiting for us.
Efes, on the other hand, is the standings leader with 10 victories and just two defeats. Ataman expects his players to deliver another solid performance away from their homecourt in order to retain their spot at the top of the table.
“We have won very hard five games on the road so far in the EuroLeague. On Thursday night, by performing a calm team play as always, we will reflect all our strength on the court to win this game,” Ataman mentioned.
