Darrun Hilliard picked up a bruised knee from CSKA Moscow’s recent VTB United League match against Parma Perm and was ruled out from the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 13 away tilt versus Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, the Russian club informed via press release. The 26-year-old swingman remained at Russia’s capital for treatment.
The Villanova alumni took part in all previous 12 EuroLeague games posting 10.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists per appearance. He is also averaging 11.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per VTB contest.
Players out long-term are Will Clyburn and Mikhail Kulagin. No shortage of missing players for the hosts with Omri Casspi, John DiBartolomeo and Nate Wolters all set to sit out Thursday’s contest.
CSKA is currently on a two-game winning streak in Europe’s premier club competition, carries an overall 8-4 W-L tally. Upcoming rivals are 8-4 as well.
