Aaron Jackson agreed to terminate his contract with the Zhejiang Lions and inked a deal with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, as Eurohoops reported and the club announced. The 33-year-old American guard signed for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.
Jackson is currently in USA waiting to become a father in the next few days. He is expected to arrive in Tel Aviv next week.
Maccabi was among his potential suitors alongside Fenerbahce Beko and AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan. The team coached by Giannis Sfairopoulos was looking to boost its backcourt following the injuries suffered by Nate Wolters and John DiBartolomeo.
The big combo guard carries experience of 132 EuroLeague contests, 112 with CSKA Moscow between 2012 and 2017 and 20 with RETAbet Bilbao in his debut season, 2011-12. Since moved his talents to China for the Beijing Ducks and the Lions, made his NBA debut as well with the Houston Rockets in April 2018.
Russia trip
In the front end of a EuroLeague double-game week, the Israeli club has a road challenge in the form of Zenit Saint-Petersburg on Tuesday. Apart Wolters and DiBartolomeo, Omri Casspi and Tarik Black will also remain sidelined for the Regular Season Round 14 contest.
Following it’s three game winning streak, Maccabi improved to 9-4 in Europe’s premier club competition. Upon returning from Russia, will host Panathinaikos OPAP on Thursday.
