Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova said that if he ever returned to play in his native Turkey again, then Fenerbahce Beko would be his preferred choice of destination.
“Fenerbahce is a big community. I think I’d like to play for Fenerbahce in Turkey,” Ilyasova said to Anadolu Agency.
Ilyasova, 32, hasn’t competed in Turkey since a brief stint with Anadolu Efes during the 2011 NBA lockout and hadn’t spent a full season with a team from his country since 2004-2005 when he was a player of Ulkerspor.
After his debut season in the NBA in 2006 – 2007, Ilyasova spent two years with Barcelona. He helped the club make the EuroLeague Final Four in 2009 and win the Spanish ACB League title of the same year.
Ilyasova is currently averaging 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in 16.5 minutes with the Bucks.
