After parting ways with Besiktas Sompo Sigorta, Dusko Ivanovic returns to KIROLBET Baskonia for his third stint with the Spanish club. The EuroLeague outlet confirmed his appointment on Tuesday via press release.
Baskonia inked the 62-year-old Montenegrin coach for the remainder of the 2019-20 season. Ivanovic will take over with the team based at Vitoria-Gasteiz carrying a 6-9 W-L tally in EuroLeague and a 7-7 record in ACB.
His previous tenures saw the Spanish club win a couple of ACB championships, four Copa Del Rey titles and one Supercopa. Overall guided Baskonia under the name of Tau Ceramica or Caja Laboral or Laboral Kutxa from 2000 to 2005 and from 2008 to 2012.
Moving forward, Ivanovic will assume head coaching responsibilities effective immediately with his first match coming on Thursday against ALBA Berlin in Germany. The EuroLeague Regular Season Round 16 affair will be his first in Europe’s premier club competition since 2015.
