Real Madrid will clash against ASVEL in France for Round 17 of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague tomorrow (3/1) but the currently first-placed team won’t be able to count on some players.
Coach Pablo Laso noted that he won’t be able to count on Felipe Reyes, Sergio Llull and Gabriel Deck while Jeffery Taylor and Anthony Randolph will be game-time decisions:
“We know that we are going to have to deal with injuries, but the team must push and we have to be ready for any situation we encounter. Taylor and Randolph had some physical complaints in training. Felipe Reyes, Llull and Deck are all out too. We are limited.”
Deck is out with a sprained left knee which might take up to two weeks to heal. Meanwhile, Llull’s recovery has been taking longer than expected as he has been out since November 26.
Laso also added that ASVEL is a new team in the competition and that asks for more thorough preparations: “ASVEL means more preparation as we’re going to a new arena and a team that has not been part of Euroleague in recent seasons. It is important to be mentally ready from the start.”
