Via his personal website sani.si Sani Becirovic himself announced that his days as a player ended and he is now the assistant coach of Panathinaikos, on the side of Sasha Djordjevic.
As he wrote: “A great chapter of my life is closing. That was the life I knew until yesterday. I am sad, but also I feel joy because of a new challenge. This is my life as a player and now I am happy that I will have such an opportunity. I will be the assistant of Sasha Djordjevic in the club which is the most succesful in Europe in recent years, this is something that can’t happen every day. I believe that we will celebrate a lot of achievements with Panathinaikos, like those of my days as player with the team”.
