“A dream came true”

After being drafted in no35 by the Sixers and traded to the Knicks, Willy Hernangomez is making the biggest step in his career, but in Europe. As Real Madrid confirmed, the 21 years old big man will not be loaned this year, but he will be part of Real’s first team.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV he explained: “It is a dream come true, ever since I joined the youth academy I have dreamed of making it to the first team and now that has been achieved. I am very grateful for the confidence that has been placed in me by Pablo Laso, Juan Carlos Sánchez Lázaro, Alberto Herreros and especially the president. I learned a lot over that two year period in Seville. I feel like a more complete player. The two years were different: the first year, it was difficult for me to adapt to the league and the second year I had a lot of minutes, I learned on the court. Now, there is no doubt that a new period is beginning”.
