Slaughter in Darussafaka for two years

Marcus Slaughter is leaving Real Madrid and he will continue his career with the ambitious newcomer Dogus Darussafaka with a two year contract. According to Eurohoops sources, the player and the Turkish club had a deal and then Real decided to release him.

Darussafaka is a newcomer in Euroleague, but has more than enough money to spend, enough to lure Slaughter from leaving the Euroleague champions. On the other hand, the player had lost his role with the team at the start of last season and that may have been a factor in the final decision of the Spanish club. However, Slaughter was back in the rotations for the finish of the Spanish league and he had a contract with the team until 2017.

After this turn of events, Real is back in the market in order to sign a center, since the club has already lost Mejri to Dallas Mavericks and also released Giannis Bourousis. Spanish web site “Encestando” was the first to report the negotiations. Slaughter will sign in Turkey as an American, while in Spain he was under “Cotonou” status, using a passport from Equatorial Guinea.
