At the end of November the hosts of the three pre-Olympic tournament will be announced by FIBA, however already five countries from Europe are interested in bidding for the event.
Germany – for which there already local reactions – Italy, Turkey, Serbia and Russia according to local reports and also Eurohoops informations have made an initial contact with FIBA for this purpose or at least expressed their interest. Two countries out of five, Italy and Serbia, have already secured spot in the tournaments for their teams and if one of them gets to be the host, then Latvia will also get the right to compete for a spot in Rio Olympics.
